Our trip today takes us to Famagusta, a small town located in the east of the country just north of the “green line”. This is preceded by a tour of the monastery of St. Barnabas, in which the Orthodox inhabitants of Cyprus worship their saint St. Barnabas who together with St. Paul the year 50, Paul announced a new religion. The old city of Famagusta is surrounded by Venetian city walls, while the newer part of the city has expanded beyond these walls.
