We will go sightseeing in Nicosia – the capital of Cyprus. Since 1974, Nicosia has been divided into Turkish-Cypriot and Greek-Cypriot parts by the border. (You will have the opportunity to cross the border and see the southern part of Nicosia). We will walk through the streets of the old city of Nicosia, which is still the last divided capital in the world. A walk to the Venetian ramparts. We will visit the Venetian column and the Arabahmet mosque from the 17th century (which is not always open). At the end of the pedestrian zone, we come to a building that looks like a church with two Ottoman minarets, and it is the Selimiye mosque. This building was built in the 13th century as the cathedral of St. Sofia, but the Ottoman turned it into a mosque in 1570. After that, we will visit two Kervansaray: Büyük Han and Kumarcilar Han from the 17th century.
